Not like most book series where you have a main character and each book is a different predicament they find themselves in. The fact that Michael has a great power, but still struggles within himself about whether he should use it or not brings something deeper to an otherwise pretty light-hearted read. He has since translated this passion and singularity of purpose to the related arts of novel writing and pizza eating. Some of the reviews I read (unfortunately after I'd already finished with the book) actually reveled in the romance aspect of the book, especially the relationship between Damali and Carlos.

I wouldn't have been satisfied at the end if I didn't know that there are plenty more installments to go. Don’t let the series packaging fool you; these are hefty books that deal with some meaty, serious issues. The ratings/reviews displayed here may not be representative of every listing on this page, or of every review for these listings. The element of choice is what’s so beautiful in this book and in the relationship between the mad Professor and his charge. One dark an lonely day, not really I just wanted to say that, Michael is adopted and whisked away to the only home is to know. As a reader I want answers eventually but I’d kind of like to figure them out myself as the series progresses. Alan has worked now on hundreds of children’s books, for a diverse client base (Disney, Universal, Dreamworks, Minecraft - to name a but a few) including work on Random House’s Gold standard, Golden Books, where he’s chalked up over 25 titles (see the Disney “I am” series and Ghostbusters) and still counting.

Again, by the middle of the book, I understood that the creature that they would eventually do battle with was different and more dangerous than what they were used to, but I had no idea how this world was supposed to be. The book's plot line in many ways kept reminding me of a sort of inner city Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It explores the meaning of good and evil and the limits of family relationships, friendships, and romance. This book starts out slow , I attempted to read it three times and put it down , I found that listening to the book helped me complete it. the Minion-sized Box of Books contains four mini-books bursting with activities, games, posters, stickers for your little Minions! I was looking forward to reading a vampire hunter series with a black chick leading the list of characters.

On the negative side, however, Minion suffers from a distinctive and shocking dearth of female characters. I found this a story that I could read again, that is why I gave it five stars, not for the dialogue. He has a super cool, super persuasive superpower, but is still relatably and amusingly awkward, but in a totally adorable and charming way.John David Anderson, author of the acclaimed Sidekicked, has written another story set in an America where superheroes and supervillains are commonplace, but where the line between right and wrong, good and evil, is still not any less elusive. However, by the middle of the novel, even though I knew her age to be almost 21, I couldn't tell her maturity level. Aziz is first described in the story as a "high-strung Indian", who Michael notes looks "like a shaman". As it is, it seems as though the book went from draft form (not rough draft, but perhaps second draft?
