His young daughter Murph (young Mackenzie Foy, older Jessica Chastain), is a stubborn, thoughtful daughter who will no doubt be the key to the story as it unfolds. Like the Blu-ray in 2015 (see review here) I resisted the urge to turn this one down the entire time as I just wanted to experience the beautiful chaos like I was really one of the astronauts in the film. Former NASA pilot Cooper (Matthew McConaughey) lives on and maintains a working farm with his, 10-year-old daughter Murphy, 15-year-old son Tom, and father-in-law Donald. Later during the crew’s liftoff headed toward boarding The Endurance the room literally comes alive with rich, tactile, low frequency energy. As stated, Interstellar already looked fabulous on Blu-ray, but that image was not without its faults, despite the mostly jaw-dropping results.Set in the near future, crop blight has caused civilization to regress into a failing agrarian society. I do still feel some of the conflict is shoehorned in here at times, but like you I’m just along for this awesome ride. Other than the ambitious science fiction interests here, the main draw of Interstellar has to be the cast to many. Of course there is some element of controversy here, at least in respect of the material and of Nolan's stylistic choices. Fleshtones are on the pallid side, while appearing predominantly lifelike, and falling in line with the film’s overall aesthetic.

If you thought Inception delivered some visionary set-pieces in terms of scale and ambition, Interstellar will blow your mind; it's a visionary work of frequently opulent majesty. My audio/video ratings are based upon a comparative made against other high definition media/blu-ray disc. Both Blu Ray and 4K Ultra HD discs are included so naturally i have tested them both on my PS5 and LG OLED tv.

Yes, it does have a tendency to over-explain itself, but what stood out to me this time around was the intention of the script to throw out as many deep thoughts it possibly can within the first 40 minutes or so. As with the rest of the titles in the recently released Nolan Ultra HD Blu-ray selection, Interstellar has reportedly been released under the supervision of the director himself, approving the 4K scan and colour timing. Did you find the ending way too convenient like it was in Mud for me (let it be known that I do like Mud)?It is abrupt but jarring as it provides a glimpse of the soundtrack’s dynamic range and deep, authoritative bass. After reading your review of the video I am sure that this will be a welcome addition to my movie collection. The 35mm scenes also show outstanding definition and clarity, but it's interesting to see that it's slightly softer by comparison. The response in my room during several sequences attained infrasonic depths that could easily be classified as skin tingling. Romilly, set out on a mission to recover the astronauts' data; if one of the planets is habitable, humanity will follow on space stations.
