The recon intel on the vets also allows for forward deployment of the MkII’s for some cheeky fire support shots. This is the Way

If the T-47 is hurting from the obscene level of Impact necessitated by Dark Troopers existing, AT-RTs are absolutely crippled by it. The humble AT-RT has always been fragile despite it’s Armor keyword, and with everyone bringing huge quantities of Impact they just melt. Swoops What, exactly, is a “skew”? Basically it’s something that asks a difficult question of your opponent (do you have a counter to armor, for example) and then leans hard into that question with redundancy. The classic example is a double heavy list; maybe your opponent has enough Impact to deal with one heavy, but not two at once. Or the old school triple Tauntaun list; perhaps your opponent could handle one aggressive creature trooper in their face, but what about three at a time? There we go! Using the Army Painter system, seven easy steps to easily paint up Rebel Troopers with desert fatigues or uniforms! Phase II – An upgraded corp unit that won’t panic as easy and makes most of their shots. What’s not like? Essentially, you want to pair them up with units that can offer useful keywords, add some Aim tokens to the pool, or let you throw lots of dice in the hopes of scoring more criticals. Keep your distance and StandbyUnlike Droids, who are also generally delicate, you can’t afford to lose your units quite so easily, and you’ll feel every loss. It’s very much a “glass cannon” faction with strong but delicate units you must maneuver into ideal positions to take out the enemy and not get torn apart from retaliating fire. Leia has always had solid support abilities and a decent enough command hand (especially No Time for Sorrows) and now she comes at a very affordable cost after the last points update. If you can afford it and have space in your command hand, Leia is well worth the upgrade over a generic officer. Generic Officer Sentinel: Plays well with this gun, since you don’t have near the mobility of your Veteran buddies it can be hard to keep up. Rather than moving up and wasting turns, find a good safe spot to camp with a good line of sight and wait. It also is a great way to get around Cumbersome as it only applies to the same activation not the same turn. So move up and then Standby. Strategies Comes with the box and you can consider them a pair, honestly. You can’t bring one without the Rebel Veterans but they rather cozily occupy a second corps slot, giving you two of your three right out of the gate. Jyn suffers from her role not being very in demand in Legion. Like Han she needs to get uncomfortably close to the enemy and doesn’t always have a lot of great ways to get there. Situational Awareness was still a ways off, so she was vulnerable to critical fire, and her command cards were only so-so while her damage was also quite low. Not a bad hero, but struggled to stand out especially with the upcoming heroes the faction had. The first but not last Rebel corps unit in this tier, Fleets are reasonable as naked units (or medbot delivery) but they are just too squishy and unreliable to take as assault units, which is what you’re doing if you take their shotgun. Rebel Troopers

I would go 100% using covering fire pip 3 or stop using the BF and go for Lando + Han + Chewie, where the pip 3 get some love and use.

Skew lists tend to be extremely good at a couple of things and lean into that identity as hard as possible. They may themselves have hard counters, but those counters are either inefficient or not commonly taken in tournament lists. On the other hand, High Velocity and Pierce are highly valued commodities, especially in a meta where the already-good dodge and red save spam that GAR is capable of has become even better with the functional deletion of Force Choke from the scene. Though sniper strikes got the double whammy of cover changes making it much harder to line up light/no cover shots with their small pools and the short end of the wound allocation rules, they’re still a necessary part of the Rebel roster, especially when there isn’t another obvious value for their still-reasonable price point. X-34 Landspeeder Moving your units into position is vital for claiming victory in Star WarsLegion, and the exact positioning of every miniature is crucial. The position of every unit on the battlefield is open information—what you need to plan for is how your opponent can use those units! Good positioning and the ability to read the battlefield could allow you to catch your opponent in a deadly crossfire or pin an enemy unit between two of your own.

Painting Star Wars: Legion Rebel Troopers Final Step

TaunTaun Riders – Hit ’em hard, hit ’em fast. The Tauns are an aggressive fast unit that can really throw a wrench in an opponents play. Within this expansion, you’ll find seven unique unpainted Rebel Veteran miniatures to add to your collection, including a Mark II Medium Blaster Trooper miniature that can be deployed as a detachment, offering valuable fire support to all of your units. Accompanying these miniatures are two unit cards, a selection of upgrade cards allowing you to outfit your veterans with new weapons and gear, and all the tokens you need to add them to your Rebel armies!

With this we come to the most recent rebel release, Din Djarin aka The Mandalorian. It’s hard to say where he stands right now, there haven’t really been enough events with him to say for certain. He seems solid, particularly at mid to close range, but he’s in a faction with lots of Operatives also competing in that role. It’ll likely be a bit before we know for sure. What’s Next? Saber Tank– Aggressive, big, and fast. These tanks are no joke and are a force to recon with on any battle field. Ultimately, Star Wars: Legion is more than just a game—it’s an invitation to create an army that only you could have built, gathering troopers, vehicles, and iconic characters from the Star Wars saga and pitting them against your opponent’s army in battle. The first step in building your army is to select your side and choose the units that will make up your army. Even within the Core Set, you already have impactful choices to make with units of Rebel Troopers and Stormtroopers, along with 74-Z Speeder Bikes, an AT-RT, Darth Vader, and Luke Skywalker. You may be planning to play out a small-scale skirmish between just a few units or a massive battle, but either way, the units that you choose are the foundation of your army. After watching all the movies and TV shows we all know that the rebels loooooove those heroes. Star Wars Legion is no different. The heroes are must haves in any Rebels army. Mandos are a fan favorite but these never quite got there. After the Wookiee Warrior buff they couldn’t quite be as economical, they were more expensive and while they were more hardy on paper, at one wound a piece it meant that every hit that did connect was much more devastating to their damage output. One failed dice roll meant one dead Mando, but it required 3 successful hits to put down a Wookiee (even if those saves probably would fail). Nominally, Mandalorians were better at short range shooting than Wookiees, and their Jump did offer somewhat more maneuverability, but with Wookiees you might as well close the gap and engage in melee. March 2021 – Lando Calrissian Popularized by CowboyTyrone in Ladder and Invader League, this is what I like to call a “W Key” list, because it only has one mode; you just mash the “W” key and go forward. This list has so many wounds and Pierce [six(!) units with Pierce] that it is capable of just completely overrunning a Clone ball. There really isn’t much more to say about this list except “I bet you can’t handle all this fur.” Dooku– A master sith and a master of the battlefield. Dooku will really force your opponents hand while they are being buried in droid bodies.
