As kids get older, it gets harder to pry this kind of information out of them. Especially once they hit the tween-age years. That’s why I recommend carving out some quality one-on-one time with your child by taking them out to breakfast or lunch at their favorite place. A well-timed jelly donut can do wonders in the enthusiasm department, especially when it comes to getting grilled about their birthday! The birthday interview questions for kids are simple, but will also give a good snapshot of what your child is like at that specific time.

Leave room for self portraits (selfies when they are older), extra snaps from the birthday party, drawings, artifacts (hair from first haircut, etc.) or just some super cute pics of your child from that year. Keep it Consistent– this one is up to you but I like the idea of using the same questions every year so we can see how they change over time. Think of it as a year-end interview reflecting on the most important parts of their year and some of their favorite things. Before you start filming, plan out the questions you want to ask your child. Keep them age-appropriate and fun, such as “What’s your favorite color?” or “What’s your favorite food?” You could also ask questions about their current interests or what they want to be when they grow up. 2. Set up the filming area Customize It– you can certainly use my questions as a guide but I urge you to customize it to your children and your family. Create your own personalized photo calendars and enjoy your favorite moments all year round. You can choose from our exclusive styles or create your own with our powerful yet easy-to-use tool.

If you’re going to be using a printable birthday questions PDF, then it’s also fun to see how your child’s penmanship changes through the years. You can include a space for your kids to sign their name, and attach a photo of your child to the printable as well. Or, if you don’t print out your photos very frequently, have your kids draw a picture of themselves instead. A birthday interview is a fun tradition to start with your kids. It involves asking them a series of questions, and recording their answers on a video or a printable birthday interview questionnaire ( like the one that I have for you below!). You can vary the questions each year as your kids get older, or ask the same birthday questions year after year to see how their answers change as they grow up. Once you have finished filming, use video editing software to trim any unnecessary footage and add titles or captions to the video.

Create a Birthday Interview Book filled with all the questions from year to year and keep it as a great keepsake There’s a few things to keep in mind before you start your birthday interview form and some of these may seem obvious but it’s easy to forget. For better or worse, many parents keep their entire lives in a digital file. So, why not record your child’s birthday interview each year? You can keep all the videos in one Google Drive file and have them forever! I create this printable with good birthday questions that will help both them and me remember them at this age!

If you want to use this printable, simply print out as many copies as you’d like and set them aside until each child’s birthday arrives. Once it’s their birthday, you can hand over the interview sheet with a pen or pencil and have them write their answers. Depending on their age, this may only take a few minutes. However, it’s a great way to see what types of things your child likes. You may be surprised to see that some of their favorite things are also some of the things you like. After all, many children take after their parents regarding preferences and tastes in food, music, colors, and more. It’s the perfect sheet to use at home to build a stronger connection with each child. BIRTHDAY INTERVIEW BOOK What is your favorite outfit? You could also take a picture of your child in his/her favorite outfit to add to your memory box. For a fun birthday tradition, I’m sharing 50+ ideas for creative birthday interview questions for kids. Plus, a kids birthday interview printable! Birthday interviews can be filled out on a printable PDF like the one below or you can make a cute and fun video of your child – either way, you’ll have a fun way to remember all the fun and “regular” things about your child each year of their life. How To Do A Birthday Interview

BIRTHDAY INTERVIEW BOOK

In the early toddler years, you’ll likely need to keep the number of questions relatively small (under 10) and simple to answer. These free printable birthday interview questions are super adorable and great to use in a classroom or at home as you create new favorite birthday traditions. These birthday questions for preschoolers and kids make age 3 a good year to start the interviews. You want your kids to be old enough that they can answer questions. It starts from age three as this is when they likely to be able to give thought out answers, and runs for 15 years until they turn 18.
