If Elgar had indeed been serious when he inscribed those initials, it did not fit the standard wisdom. The premiere of Młynarski's "Polonia" took place on February 6, 1911, in Glasgow with the Scottish Symphony Orchestra performing and the composer at the orchestra's helm.
