Description

The only currently available model, you’ll find the Malignant Plaguecaster in the Chosen of Mortarion set. Armed with a bolt pistol and corrupted staff, he’s much better in a fight than shooting. But you weren’t taking him for the shooting phase. From one group of self-involved egotists to another, it’s the pointy-helmed Aelves of Hysh. This insufferably well-oiled Vanari Shining Host focuses on the Tyrionic half of the Realm-lords’ martial forces, bringing 23 models of archers, spearmen, and cavalry to bear with gleaming precision. If you like eccentric mechanical limbs, gosh does the Adeptus Mechanicus have a treat for you with not one or two, but 15 weird and wonderful modes of ambulation or flight! There’s also a unit of Skitarii and a powerful Tech-priest to lead this gaggle of whirring, clunking, zapping warriors. They’re joined by 10 Primaris Reivers , two Invictor Tactical Warsuits , and three Eliminators for good measure. This set also contains three Raven Guard transfer sheets for that custom touch. The Warhammer Vault also expands, this time with White Dwarf issues 318 and 319, and you can get your fill of aelven theological gossip with Broken Realms: Morathi and Broken Realms: Teclis .

Brilliant Battleforces Burst onto the Scene in This Week’s

Games Workshop announced a part of Christmass battleforces for Warhammer. And there’s a Death Guard set there. Let’s imagine that you’ve bought this box and want to start playing. What should you take next? Also, let’s see, how does this codex feel after a year since the release. Anyone who had nuns in big metal jumpsuits on their Christmas bingo card is going to be rubbing their hands with glee at the Sanctorum Guard battleforce, which contains 23 saintly miniatures. Morven Vahl spearheads a cohort of six Paragon Warsuits, while a complement of Celestian Sacresants and a Battle Sister squad give you more zealots than you can shake a brazier at. Likewise, there is no longer an official Death Guard model. Instead, he does give you the opportunity to build an unique unit from the same bin of parts as the Chaos Lord. You’ll need to find something suitable cool for the force stave or axe. They’re traditional and you don’t want to minus to hit from a fist. Lord of War

Necrons – Eradication Legion

Like the T Sons, the Death Guard have their Primarch with them! Which is great for new players but might be a negative for anyone who already started getting models. Battleforce: Adepta Sororitas – Sanctorum Guard All these units compose a roster of 2000 points depending on the wargear you take. It’s easy to make it 2500 – just take Mortarion. He’s quite deadly and doesn’t really need support. The main thing – don’t forget to cast -1 to hit every turn. There’s no way to heal him, so, unprotected, he dies very fast. Choosing a Death Guard Chaos Lord for your HQ means you’re running your plague company on a budget. He has a basic profile in power armor, broad selection of ranged and melee weapons, and Lord of the Death Guard aura to boost his followers in melee. A 4+ invulnerable from the Sigil of Corruption never is out of style either.

Sunday Preview – Warhammer 40,000 Battleforces and Necromunda

This clutch of Knights is a perfectly sized army project – it’s just a handful of miniatures, after all… The Chainbreaker Lance contains four Armiger-class knights led by Canis Rex , a legendary steed piloted by the equally epic Sir Hekhtur. For those of a less Freeblade persuasion, Canis Rex can also be constructed as any Questoris-class Knight. Battleforce: Thousand Sons – Court of The Crimson King The first Chaos box has a good assort of Thousand Sons models, and it’s even led by Magnus! That means it’s fantastic for new players but maybe a little harder to justify for someone who already owns Magnus. Battleforce: Death Guard – Council of The Death Lord The quest to save Ulfenkarn comes to an end with the final expansion for Warhammer Quest: Cursed City. Nightwars will bring your heroes’ gruelling journey to a close with new quests, new enemies, and new ways to use your Soulblight Gravelords collection. You’ll need the previous expansion, and the required miniatures to play. The fierce eyes of a Sister Dogmata command this force, which is composed of five Celestian Sacresants, 10 Battle Sisters, an Immolator armed transport, and a mighty Exorcist tank. Forge World is returning to Necromunda with some new and highly detailed resin kits, starting with Athera, Blade of the Matriarch . Escher gangs can petition her for help in slicing up enemy gangers with her master-crafted chainaxe. Athera is accompanied into battle by her grumpy Caryatid, Stix, who has the prescience to help them both avoid harm. Necromunda: Escher Shivver and Apprentice Clan Chymist Gotrek Gurnisson is so tough he survived the death of an entire world. Does that make him the best Slayer, or the worst? Regardless of your position on this, The Gotrek Gurnisson Collection rounds up all of Darius Hinks’ stories of Gotrek in the Mortal Realms in one lavish release, presented in a very fancy slipcase. There’s even a bonus, never-before-seen story included – The Crown of Karak-Khazar – making it a must for every Gotrek superfan. 12 Tales of Christmas eShorts Subscription The Knights box is a little more flexible and a pretty good buy, as the models are generic enough to want multiples. It may seem strange, but there’s no commander for this army. Plague Surgeon dwells in the Elite slot, and, honestly, is one of the weakest characters in the army. So, think about someone to lead your army. Probably, a part of Dark Imperium starter is a good idea. It’s cheap and gives you one more Drone with useful wargear, 2 (or 1) squads of extremely required Poxwalkers, enough to fill 2 extra troops slots for a batallion detachment, Plague marines for conversions and alternative use, and Malignant Plaguecaster. This guy must be in your roster because there are many useful spells in this codex. He can both support close combat units or cover those who are left behind. Starter lord is totally useless – he does all the things that Typhus can but has no psychic powers and special abilities. Considering the minimal price difference, it’s better to buy Typhus. The miniature is awesome, by the way. Magnus the Red is the 41st Millenium’s premiere big scarlet-skinned chap, at least until his very angry brother turns up. Joining him are 23 of his sons – 20 dusty Rubric Marines and three Exalted Sorcerers living their best arcane life. Battleforce: Death Guard – Council of The Death Lord Supplies from Mars are slightly delayed for those of you in Canada and the US, where the Omnissiah’s Talon box will drop early next year. Adepta Sororitas Battleforce: Purgatos Mission Three classic Warhammer novels are released as MP3 audiobooks next week. In Gods of Mars , Archmagos Kotov’s great voyage is over, and his fleet marvels at the wonders that they have found – but reality itself is threatened by nefarious elements who plan to misuse these impossible technologies. This is the final part of Graham McNeill’s Forge of Mars series. These cranky killing machines are off to reclaim the galaxy by force, and this box comes with more than enough firepower to do just that, with Lokhust Heavy Destroyers and Canoptek Doomstalkers. You will also get a Psychomancer, a squad of Necron Warriors, and melee support in the form of Flayed Ones and Ophydian Destroyers. Adeptus Mechanicus Battleforce: Omnissiah’s Talon Decorate your hearth with bolter, melta, and flamer, for this box has ‘em all and more. Along with a Sister Dogmata and a squad each of Battle Sisters and Celestian Sacresants, this force also includes two giant tanks that will definitely add a little spice to your holiday carnage.
