Description

Adrenalize is the fifth studio album by English rock band Def Leppard, released on 31 March 1992 through Mercury Records. Cumulatively, all this activity led to Adrenalize yielding further multi-platinum rewards for this seemingly invincible quintet blessed with an inherent knack for facing down the odds and coming up triumphant. The album featured its fair shares of lascivious rockers (“Make Love Like A Man,” “Personal Property,” “Tear It Down”), but they were tempered with soaring, radio-friendly anthems such as “Heaven Is” and the glorious widescreen ballad “Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad. Rolling Stone astutely described Adrenalize as “a seemingly unending string of energetic, hook-heavy songs about girls”, and after “Let’s Get Rocked” powered up to No.

Instead, the band took matters in their own hands and produced the album themselves along with longtime engineer Mike Shipley; [7] with Lange credited as executive producer. From the first, this was a band that gloried in the power of heavy metal’s musical gestures — the towering majesty of a power riff, the momentary freedom of a guitar break, the exhilaration of a singer’s scream — and as the group has grown, its ability to manipulate that vocabulary has expanded to the point that its songs have become mini-masterpieces of aural impact. Def Leppard, Britain’s greatest arena rock band, release a deluxe editions of the classic album Adrenalize . The album was recorded following the tragic death of guitarist Steve Clark--with Phil Collen recording all guitar parts--and dedicated to his memory. Spawning seven singles, four of them – " Let's Get Rocked", " Make Love Like a Man", " Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad", and " Stand Up (Kick Love into Motion)" – were major hits.At the same time guitarist Steve Clark had been suffering from alcohol addiction since 1989, spending six sessions in rehab. Tear It Down" is a re-recording of a song written during a recording session following the completion of the Hysteria album, and released as B-side for that album's single " Women" in 1987. Since Collen was recruited during the making of 1981’s High’n’Dry, he had developed an almost telepathic understanding with Clark.

It is the first album by the band recorded without guitarist Steve Clark, who died in 1991, although most songs were written and partially demoed before his death, they were re-recorded solo by Phil Collen in 1991-1992. The Sheffield quintet showed true Yorkshire grit en route to realizing Hysteria, with drummer Rick Allen overcoming a near-fatal car crash that left him without his left arm. White Lightning" is dedicated to the memory of Clark, [7] who has writing credits on six of the album's ten tracks. The album was produced by Def Leppard and Mike Shipley with Robert "Mutt" Lange as executive producer. The "deluxe edition" will feature deluxe digi--pack gatefold packaging with expanded booklets containing rare and previously unseen photographs, comprehensive sleeve-notes telling the story behind the album and includes images of rare single covers and memorabilia from the period. No mean feat for a hard rock/metal album released while grunge superstars such as Nirvana and Pearl Jam were at the height of their fame. At the same time this was also issued in Japan (no picture disc) along with a Mega Edition featuring these two tracks on CD1 and the 'In The Clubs-In Your Face' Live E. There’s no overriding concept to the album, no sense of the group’s confronting its demons or wrestling with the problems of the world; instead, what we get is a seemingly unending string of energetic, hook-heavy, gosh-we-luv-’em songs about girls.
