Description

I bought a "Bluetooth Remote Shutter". I'm able to connect and trust it from an RPI running Jessie Stretch. From the box and manual here are the supported devices tested and proven to actually worked. According to the manual, the remote shutter should work or compatible with Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system or higher and with iOS 6.0 or higher version. Here’s a list of Andriod and iOS devices that are compatible with ASHUTB Bluetooth remote shutter: The Pi, Arduino and relay are in a sensible electronics enclosure, with good cabling, glands and cable strain relief, for the control wire, 5VDC in and wired ethernet. There is no onboard wifi, and the mains power point is some distance from the Pi. I was thinking that all I need is to figure out the button press from Bluetooth, but as you say, the bluetooth button goes to sleep mode, and wakes up on first press? Reply

c. Once you have Bluetooth open, select the device “AB Shutter 3” from the list of device options. You may need to wait a few seconds but it should soon say “Connected.” Having an external button which can increase the volume or send an enter command isn't very useful. I want to press the button and have a program run which will (for example) turn on my lights. Run a program when the Bluetooth connection is made

I 100% agree with you, and a great safety warning. Glad that situation did not end as badly as it could have. This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. The interface will be one designed for switching mains from a Pi/Arduino, with proper separation of the high and low voltage sections, even though it doesn't need to be, for a few pounds extra it gave me a much more robust switch. The relay fails open, so the boiler turns off if it dies. I have this on now, but have tested previously replacing it with a standalone Pi, implementing a simple timing schedule.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Sounds like you're having issues trying to pair your third-party Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone 8. If so, we'd like to help out and point you in the right direction. We did notice that you're already coming from the following resource here: If you can't connect a Bluetooth accessory to your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support Under their Compatibly List, it does show the following iPhone models: iPhone 5s/5c/5, iPhone 4s/4, iPad 3/2, iPad mini, iPad with Retina Display, iPod touch 4th generation or newer. I plan 4 vital safety features, even given that I am using a purpose built timer control interface:You can, however, use xkbcomp to remap the buttons on a specific device ( thanks to Stephen Wing for that tip). Regardless, I figure I could ignore the extra "keystrokes" and use the first one in each burst. But, I'd like to understand what's goin on. How does it connect according to hcitool con yet not be registered as an input device (and register any inputs)? So if you had any good or bad experiences with ASHUTB AB Bluetooth remote shutter 3, please do share it so that we can help others who are having problems with this device. The device actually does not show up as an input in /dev/input/. When I connect it manually through the GUI, it shows up as /dev/input/event5.
