Once the information is in Sage Pay's systems, all sensitive data is secured using the same internationally recognised 256-bit encryption standards used by, among others, the US Government. The encryption keys are held on state-of-the-art, tamper proof systems in the same family as those used to secure VeriSign's Global Root certificate, making them all but impossible to extract. The data we hold is extremely secure and we are regularly audited by the banks and banking authorities to ensure it remains so. In good weather the route from Glyder Fawr towards Glyder Fach is quite obvious, however in poor visibility map and compass work maybe required.

Skirt around the right side of Castell y Gwynt before clambering up a bouldery path to the summit. From here it’s just a short walk onto the summit of Glyder Fach, with the Cantilever Stone just beyond. There are fabulous 360 views from the summits of Glyder Fawr and Glyder Fach, with the Snowdon massif to the southwest and the Carneddau and Anglesey to the north. Castell y Gwynt with the Snowdon Massif in the clouds behind 6 Beautiful Walks to Glyder Fawr & Glyder FachThe Explorer series of maps is the more popular of the two and is said to be ideal for walking, running, mountain biking and horse riding. The maps are 1:25,000 scale which means 4cm on the map equals 1 km on the ground. Details include footpaths and open access areas. There are many walking routes that take in the peaks of Glyder Fawr and Glyder Fach. There are also numerous scrambles onto the top of the Glyderau but I’ve only included one in this list.

After passing through the quarry the next climb begins for the craggy summit of Moelwyn Mawr. Take a moment to again enjoy panoramic views of Snowdonia National Park at the summit. Descend Moelwyn Mawr to the southeast before making the final ascent to Moelwyn Bach, which is thankfully 60m lower than it’s bigger brother. Plan your route carefully before you set off by choosing a route that suits the fitness level of everybody in your group, not just your own. We recommend the Llanberis path if this is your first time climbing Snowdon. Reaching the summit is only half the battle so be vigilant as you descend the mountain, as you will become tired and are more likely to slip or trip at this point. Just beyond Glyder Fach summit is the Cantilever stone which makes for an iconic Snowdonia photo. From Glyder Fach you can descend to Bwlch Tryfan via Bristly Ridge if you’re feeling brave, however I suggest taking the easier path to the east. This is different to a Hewitt which applies to peaks in England, Wales and Ireland. By this definition a mountain is defined as being over 200ft (610m) in height but with a rise of 98.4ft (30m).

Which hiking boots are best for wide feet?

This relatively low-level walk has a little bit of everything! It offers great mountain views, tumbling river cascades, pretty villages and some interesting Welsh history. Following the opening of the Llanberis pass in 1832, the Miners Path was built to carry copper from the Britannia Copper Works near Llyn Glaslyn to Pen-y-Pass, where it was then transported to Caernarfon. The mining came to an end in 1916, remains from the work can still be seen on the path to this day. Once above the gulley and past the Great Pinnacle, the scramble is then complete and there is a straightforward path first to the Cantilever Stone, and then to Glyder Fach summit itself. To get the six-figure grid reference, you have to imagine that the four-figure square is further divided up into tenths.

In practice, it’s the six-digit grid reference number that is most commonly used, although the more digits used gives you a more precise location. GPS devices often specify at least eight-digit grid reference numbers. Four-figure grid references The Carneddau are big mountains with many of the highest peaks in Eryri (Snowdonia). If you’re looking for a big mountain day with a large amount of up, then this hike is for you!Highlights: Striking limestone and gritstone scenery, The Pennine Way, sailing on the Grimworth Reservoir, and the Wensleydale Cheese Factory. Description: Map sheet number 41 in the OS Landranger map series is the ideal map to use when planning a trip to the Ben Nevis, Fort William and Glen Coe area. The area is famous for its spectacular views and challenging walks. It is a great place to get away from it all. All of the top 10 highest peaks in Wales are located in Eryri National Park. For all the top things to do in Snowdonia, take a look at this guide. Guided Welsh Mountain Walks The Cwm Bochlwyd Horseshoe is an epic Snowdonia adventure that is probably only surpassed by the Snowdon Horseshoe. This short loop consists of three grade 1 scrambles with moderate exposure. This route is recommended for experienced hikers/scramblers only. The full ten-digit grid reference with National Grid letter – ‘SH 60989 54379’ or without letters ‘60989 54379’ – the most accurate grid reference. Note that these longer grid references are hardly discernible at popular leisure map scales.

As well as having epic mountain walks, Snowdonia is also blessed with beautiful waterfall walks. Discover the prettiest ones in this post! 3. Cwm Bochlwyd Horseshoe (Tryfan & Glyder Fach Scramble)

OS Tour

This route climbs Pen yr Ole Wen from the east which includes a short but straightforward scramble. Then there is a short climb to Carnedd Dafydd followed by a ridge walk and another short climb to Carnedd Llywelyn. Located between the two peaks of Glyder Fawr and Glyder Fach is Castell y Gwynt or Castle of the Wind. Castell y Gwynt is just a short walk from Glyder Fach summit but is actually the child summit of Glyder Fawr. It was reclassified as a Nuttall in 2007 but is not included in the Wales 3000s.
