That volume of fluid never changes unless (obviously) more fluid was added at some point previously, when the pistons were in the "out" position. If you are doing a one man bleed-down for the first time, this may sound superfluous, bit make sure you keep the end of the tube in the soda can submerged in brale fluid or you'll just end up sucking air into the system. If you need to press the pistons back in to allow space for the new pads, you’ll be wanting to suck some fluid out of the reservoir to have room.

BTW - be prepared to struggle to get the front calipers bled properly - air gets trapped inside and it can be frustrating to get it all out if it's your first time doing it. I've never had an issue opening calipers enough for new pads on motorcycles to fit back on the rotor. I've even put the new pads in, wrapped a cloth around end of flat head screwdriver, carefully wedge between the pads to open them enough to go onto the rotors. I used it once to bleed my front and rear brakes, and when I was done, rinsed all the bleed kit parts with water and dish soap. th real engineering or chemist GJ solution would be to figure out which polyglycols or whatever is in brake fluid, then find the spec. You should be able to confirm the size by measuring the pads from their longest points and comparing them to the dims on the site for the new pads. I have a single 1 foot length of this amazing clear tubing that’s a little less transparent (still can see brake fluid bubbles no problem). Once it is slid in you can pull the hose straight out and the brass press in fitting in the end of the hose should slide right out.The other end has a weighted one-way valve that takes a little pressure to operate, so some resistance when you push the pedal.

I find these work really well, as they compress the bubbles a little and they spurt out in a definite stream of bubbles, bleeding very quickly. Seems the actual EBC catalog (at least the one here: EBC-2019-Intl-Full-Catalogue) doesn’t even list NC700x DCT after 2014 - all the 700x’s are listed using the 388 front pads. BTW2 - - we like "dumb" and "simple" questions around here - it makes those of us who can't answer the complicated questions feel smarter!hose fits, kinda, but definitely get the 4mm ID x 6mm OD if you can for a better fitment, especially with the brass barb on the inside. You definitely can suck the fluid out, if you have something to do that with, I didn't at the time so I just ran fluid through each reservoir about 4 times. I put it down to the nature of the little plastic check valve - it's spring-loaded (and really cheap). When you bled the system, the DOT fluid ended up in the pores of the hose and when you flushed with water, the residue absorbed some of the water, leaving it opaque.
