Solo is naturally the one-player mode and Warm-Up gives you a simple dance routine to get you already to go. If you really enjoy SingStar or Just Dance then the experiences here are very similar, more so to Just Dance as this is much stripped down compared to the PlayStation karaoke classic and not as friendly.

We've also run over 700,000 gaming sessions to help our members unlock millions of achievements and make new friends.By Heart allows you to test your memory by completely omitting the lyrics from the screen – looks like those 10 viewings of Frozen will have paid off, after all – while Expert mode removes the visual cues to make your job even harder. You won't be finding noughties or nineties hits in here, though – most of the songs were released in 2013 or later, save for James Blunt's You're Beautiful, which came out a grand 11 years ago. The majority of the songs in the game are sung by female singers but if you struggle to reach the high notes, you can sing an octave lower and as long as you are in tune you will be rewarded with points as well as a congratulatory OK, good or perfect (or an oops if you are way off). Johnny, I'm going to see them in York next month, can't wait, only got the first three albums at the moment. There’s also very little to enjoy, nay nothing, if you don’t enjoy music that’s been made in the past eighteen months and, of course, you’ll get more out of the game if you invite your friends around for a go and make an evening of it with some drinks and perhaps some other party games.

With no difficult options on the game it’s up to you to mangle your vocals enough to match whether you’re male or female, deep or high voiced. Well, that all depends on your age, likes, number of friends you have and desire to make a fool of yourself!

Karaoke aficionados who prefer a challenge may instead be interested in By Heart mode, which is the same as Classic mode only with players having to remember the words when presented with the occasional missing line of lyrics. A long running series of compilation albums that rounded up all the latest releases onto one handy disc, almost everyone had at least a few at some point - even if they did hold slightly less appeal when we moved on to obscure piano playing women and angsty grunge. SingStar PS4 divided opinions when it first launched – it was missing a lot of important features, and seemed rushed out to capitalise on the success of Sony's new system.

There is no way that you will get 120,000 points on a song, or survive a song in Elimination mode without being able to sing that song near-perfectly. Turn up the volume, grab a mic and get the party started with a variety of unique game modes, “Classic”, “Duet”, “By Heart” and “Pass The Mic”. If you love the song, play it on the game; if you love watching music videos, then it’s probably best to switch on YouTube or MTV. The game also has a jukebox mode which allows you to listen to the songs and watch the videos without singing along. Plug in your microphones, sing together with your friends or have a solo session to train your Karaoke skills. It’s a credit limit that’s sits alongside your PayPal account which you can use for your online purchases. Sadly, no four player games here if you are a real karaoke fan and have the We Sing adaptor and four microphones. If you are feeling even more competitive, in the ‘Elimination’ mode each player starts with a full bar of energy which depletes with every bum note.

There's the traditional Classic mode in which players simply sing along to the song, or there is Pass The Mic mode where multiple players share one microphone. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Its wide variety of modes make it a hugely entertaining release to play with friends or by yourself, and the vast range of songs ensures that you'll always have something to sing. Since 2005 Voxler has focused on delivering the best possible singing game experience, based on a great singing game technology with optimized speech recognition and precise real time feedback on the singer’s voice. By Heart’ is just like ‘Classic’ mode but some of the lyrics will disappear during the round and in ‘Expert’ there are no lyrics or bars at all.Players who keep up with the latest musical trends will be pleased with the selection of titles in this game as there is a heavy pop / dance influenced soundtrack that was mostly released after 2013.
