And so I knew that if I wanted to, invite a space that felt safe for people, to address some of the hurt and harm and pain in their own stories, that I needed to be willing, to go there myself. I already knew some bits and pieces of Blaine’s story from hearing his storytelling from the stage and his instagram account, but this is an invitation right into the dark and often messy work that being a human in recovery and creating new patterns out of dysfunction is.Blaine: I mean I think that’s such a great, I think that is, that is the word that’s probably one that really does define my work in, I think any creative act is, or the turn of a phrase of a really good therapist is get curious about that. But it connected me back to the places that I thought that I had, made peace with and realized that I had not, because where I was going was so directly connected to where I had come from.
