Finally making it to their destination, after defeating several assassins, Batman found that the cure was actually not a guaranteed cure at all, it was a chemical that would make Dent permanently Two-Face. The Harvey persona had given up hope and wanted to relinquish control over to his worse half, a surprise even the Two-Face persona didn't know. With the Harvey persona threatening to douse all of Gotham in this "cure" if Batman didn't use it on him, Batman instead injected Dent with a different chemical, one that made Harvey immune to his own "cure". Dent didn't deserve to permanently be Harvey or Two-Face, and so now they were forced to fight forever. [15] Deface the Face In his Headquarters, Enigma had been investigating Batman's true identity and had listed Harvey (as well as Bruce Wayne) as potential suspects. Two-Face teamed up with the Justice League to fight off a group of invading aliens in 1975’s Justice League of America #125-126. The Flash warned everyone that Two-Face would betray them, which he naturally did. Thankfully, the aliens were defeated despite Dent’s double-cross. Rivera, Joshua (April 18, 2017). Two-Face resurfaced in Gotham over a year later, having survived his suicide attempt. The bullet missed his brain, only worsening his mental stability to the point that the "Two-Face personality" was overtaking the "Harvey Dent" one. In 1946, the Batman newspaper strips published their own version of Two-Face’s origin, with a few twists. This version of the character was a conceited actor named Harvey Apollo who was scarred by a gangster he was testifying against. Most of the story plays out the same way, except Two-Face accidentally kills himself by tripping over his coin and being hung after falling into some hanging wires. In addition to Ellison’s lost episode, Warner Brothers Animation presented a second version of Batman ’66’s Two-Face in the animated movie Batman vs. Two-Face. William Shatner voiced Harvey Dent, and hearing him interact with Adam West’s Batman (in his final performance as the Caped Crusader) is as glorious as you could imagine. Two Face was created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane, first appearing in Detective Comics #66. However, in the Prime Earth continuity, Two Face first appeared as part of the New 52 DC Universe in Batman (Volume 2) #1 by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. Two-Face". DC UNIVERSE INFINITE. In the aftermath of the earthquake that left Gotham City in shambles during Cataclysm, Two-Face escaped custody and kidnapped Commissioner Gordon to put him on trial for his actions during No Man's Land, with Two-Face as both judge and prosecutor. Gordon played upon Two-Face's split psyche to demand Harvey Dent as his defense attorney. Dent cross-examined Two-Face and won an acquittal of Gordon.

In Volume Two, Jessica discovers that Bruce is Batman, and they each reciprocate the romantic affection they had for each other since childhood. However, after Sal Maroni kills Harvey, Jessica is disfigured following the incident when she presses her face against Harvey's burning, her final exchange with Bruce suggesting that she has developed a split personality with her brother as the other identity. [129] Having regained his trust, Dent was trained and conditioned by Batman to act as Gotham's primary vigilante protector when he, Robin and Nightwing all took a one-year hiatus to train during the Lost Year. When Batman returned, a series of murders occurred implicating Harvey and involving Two-Face's M.O.. When confronted on the issues by Batman, in his anger at being distrusted, the Two-Face persona resurfaced, and talked Dent into scarring his face and returning to his life of crime. Harvey Dent has returned to his Two-Face identity and committing crimes.Two-Face's Gang tried to rob multiple banks of the evacuated city in an attempt to wear Batman out and for his men to have enough money to retire from crime. Once Batman began interfering, he offered to double the pay for whoever brought him the Batman's corpse. In the next bank, he threatened to kill the families of his gang if his coin came up bad, or give them their compensation if the coin came up good. After Batman stopped three robberies, Two-Face appeared in person, with multiple militia soldiers, in an attempt to kill him, but they are all defeated. After that, Batman took Two-Face to the GCPD holding cells to await trial. During the trip to GCPD, Two-Face said Harvey Dent was dead, thought Harvey stated he wished he was because he had been turned into a monster; Batman somberly apologized for not being able to help. Harvey Dent was one of Enigma's suspects for Batman's secret identity when discovered in his secret room at his headquarters in Burnley. In the Elseworlds story Batman: In Darkest Knight, Harvey Dent is the Gotham District Attorney and distrusts Green Lantern (who in this reality is Bruce Wayne) because of his vigilante tactics, made even worse due to Commissioner Gordon's distrust of Lantern due to his sheer power. Sinestro, after becoming deranged from absorbing Joe Chill's mind, then scars Dent's face and gives him powers similar to those of the main continuity's Evil Star. He calls himself Binary Star and works with Star Sapphire (who in this reality is Selina Kyle). [116] Erdmann, Kevin (July 27, 2020). "Has Harvey Dent Been Cured of Two-Face?". Screen Rant .
