At 7.2kW, the EO Mini Pro 2 is competitive with other fast chargers in the industry, and the output is impressive for such a dinky home charger. While the unit does weigh between 3kg–4.5kg, depending on your model, for a home charger, this is still pretty decent. Smaller than a piece of A5 paper and equipped with simple LED status lights, the EO Mini Pro 2 is the most inconspicuous EV home charger on the market. The Indra Smart PRO has the excellent Kaluza app, solar integration, and a BOOST button that overrides any schedules and charge settings for max power. Prior to the installation guy turning up, I took the cover off my fuse box but other than that wasn’t sure if I needed to do anything else. While the Ohme Home requires an additional charge for a Garo earthing device, the Home Pro gets built-in grounding technology. As an added safety feature, the app will not allow charging to go live if your vehicle’s AMP (power) level is incorrect. While this can be annoying, it is for the client’s benefit; if the AMP setting is wrong, it can damage your electric vehicle’s battery!

The EO Mini Pro 2 doesn’t have a physical control panel. Everything is controlled via the EO Smart Home app, available on iPhone and Android. The Ohme Home Pro has something no other charging device on this list has: a digital display. Appealing to anyone who has endured the frustration of waiting for a smartphone app to connect, the display offers easy-to-read, at-a-glance information, connecting to the internet via an integrated 4G SIM card, and updating over the air rather than via your home network.
