My husband really likes this on me as well, he told me I smelled "like a bakery" and I really can't disagree with him there. Opening is soapy cloves and the dry down is just generic, soapy, dated, perfumey floral and patch… and so strong I can taste it too.

I absolutely love it, but am treading carefully when applying especially when I will be in confined spaces. It is a touch less spicy and cinnamon (I know, it's not a listed note, but it features in batch 3XO1) and a bit smoother. Below you can see the longest potential duration for storage on a device, as set when using the cookie method of storage and if there are any other methods used. Don’t get me wrong, SL is right up my alley, and I’ll never let go of my Jeux de Peau, but Chergui is on thin ice because although beautiful, it doesn’t develop as well on me as others I have in the same vein do—if you own CD Addict, in the first and second formulations, I swear there’s a bit of Chergui going on there in between the two—and a few others are outta here.

Ok so I wrote a review for this one a while back and compared it to potpourri and a 90’s Christmas candle, while those are valid comparisons, this is a complete spice bomb! And i just wondered if the spices were that intense and overpowering already in 25 degrees (or 77 fahrenheit), how would I ever wear this in colder weather? What a beautiful composition of spice balanced out with creamy ylang ylang, juicy mango, powdery heliotrope, and subtle vanilla. This is one of the best perfumes I’ve ever smelled- I agree with prior comments that this is better than many niche brands.

I imagine Jungle will morph even more in the colder weather and I am looking forward to testing it out then. It’s actually growing on me, I’ve gotten into warm spicy and amber fragrances lately, I hardly wear any ‘freshies’ anymore. This is sweet/sour, I was expecting spicy cinnamon buns but what I get from Elephant is more apple pies (not overly sweetened or ripe). I had a hard time liking Jungle the first time, but I took the time to get used to it and it has become a great must-have scent in my collection. I'm always interested in strong perfumes, the stronger the better, but they tend to be on the more expensive side. I wore it again today and layered it with By the Fireplace by Replica, I can’t remember who recommended it, but it was a beautiful combo.

Now, this is a statement fragrance, making milquetoasts blush, and driving certain sensitive souls to glower. It’s MY interpretation of a “safari”, or rather, “Africa” scent, all burnt oranges, red-browns and ochre spices and yellow fruits, and it’s mine again, all mine. Cardamom spices up a gourmand heart of Ylang-Ylang, Liquorice and Gardenia over a generous base of Patchouli.I sprayed the back of one hand just once, and I can smell this coming off me in great thundering gallumphing sense-memory-inducing monsoons! Doesn't bother me though, I think it harmonises with the other spices well, so it just gives an additional warmth and depth to the scent overall. I can’t wait to wear this perfect cold-weather fragrance, rock it at 50, just like I did at 30, albeit in lower-heeled boots. I had this five years ago, but sold it; shifting tastes caused me to seek it out again, and I’m glad I did!
