June3:Repeat Day, World Bicycle Day, World Cider Day, National Donut Day, National Egg Day, National Doughnut Day* (first Friday) This book gave all me all the things, every emotion you can feel, it gave. Told in two different timelines, it was unflinchingly raw and honest and at the same time was layered with so many different types of love. Romantic love, parental love, friendship, student/teacher, community, and culture. From generational trauma, to dealing with a chronic debilitating disability to drug abuse and the struggle of single motherhood, this book doesn't shy away from difficult topics. Shane and Eva burrowed themselves into my heart, their stories are so heartbreaking and tragic but at the same time their resilience and strength is so beautiful and inspiring. I loved this book with my whole heart. 💙 I love when romance books have all the typical romance elements but don't feel tropey or formulaic. It took me some time to finish this book but I'm currently in quite a serious reading slump so finishing (and enjoying) anything feels like an achievement. Eva knows she is still susceptible to Shane's charms. Shane is also still in love with Eva. He also cares for her daughter, and sees the three of them creating a new family together. However, Eva is still afraid that Shane will disappear from her life again. She is unsure how to let her relationships coexist. June 14:The U.S. Army Birthday, Flag Day, Monkey Around Day, International Bath Day, National New Mexico Day, World Blood Donor Day

I thought it was fascinating to read how much the two had changed from lost teenagers to successful adults. Reading about their first week together provided so much more context to where they are as adults. Cece got Shane and Eva to fly and meet up at a restaurant in Atlanta, telling each of them a different story about why they needed to be there. Shane thought she was going to be a panelist and Eva thought she was attending a surprise party. The novel follows Eva Mercy, a successful erotica author and the daughter she’s raising on her own in Brooklyn. Unbeknownst to Eva, the love of her life is about to return—and she hasn’t seen him since their affair ended abruptly, fifteen years ago.

Over the next seven days, amidst a steamy Brooklyn summer, Eva and Shane reconnect—but Eva’s wary of the man who broke her heart, and wants him out of the city so her life can return to normal. Before Shane disappears though, she needs a few questions answered... International Picnic Day is celebrated on 18 June every year. This is a day to enjoy nature, with your near and dear ones.

In other words: This couple couldn't be together by the end of the penultimate chapter, but in the following one, nothing really changed! Shane was ready to come to Eva but left the choice up to her. However, Audre could tell her mother was missing Shane. She reached out to Cece for help getting her mom and Shane together. I couldn’t get enough of their reconnection as adults. I so enjoyed how they both were writing to each other in their successful novels. Both both are a crossroads when it comes to their writing. While Eva is ready to write a more serious book inspired by her family’s past, Shane is now sober and has never written a book without a drink. This book follows Eva, a semi-struggling romance writer and single mom, and Shane, an enigmatic wildly successful bad boy of the literary world. We find out that they spent 7 sordid days together in, you guessed it, June of one high school year or other, and also by sordid I mean "violent, sexual, addictive, and generally a huge unexpected tone shift for lil old me and our lil old characters." This wasn't what I was expecting... It was messier, more complicated and darker than I thought it would be from the cover and synopsis. I'm probably going to be an outlier here, but I didn't love it! I also had no idea how to rate it because although I loved aspects of it, I also had major problems with a lot of parts too. So I sat and wrote a pros and cons list, and they had about the same number of items on each one!🤦‍♀️Hopefully by the end of this review I will have a clearer idea!Every year on 4 June, the United Nations (UN) International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression is observed to raise awareness about the children who have suffered a lot throughout the world and are victims of physical, mental and emotional abuse. On this day UN affirms its commitment to protect the rights of children. My favorite character 🫶🏻 the funniest, most adorable, lovable character in the book. She’s so precious 🥹 i love the way she loves Eva and her speech to shane about taking care of her mother had me in tears please i love her so much 🤧💘 her relationship with eva was one of the coolest mother and daughter relationship i’ve ever read. They were best friends before they were mother and daughter. They were each other half i just love them sm 🫶🏻🫶🏻 The International Olympic Day is celebrated on 23rd June every year to make people aware of the importance of games in life. Olympic Day is much more than a sports event. It is a day for the world to get active. Eva Mercy is a single mom to 12 year old Audre and the author of an erotic vampire book series. At a literary event in New York City, she runs into award-winning author Shane Hall, who typically keeps a low profile. They initially pretend not to know each other, but their chemistry is evident and rumors in the writing community begin to swirl.

The characters were both so dysfunctional, still recovering from their pasts. They needed therapy, not to jump into bed with each other! Especially Shane! It’s very rare for me to like all the side characters when i read something but omg i loved all of the side characters in this book (except her peace of shit excuse of a mother ) all of them was very lovable and hilarious, kind and sweet.💕 World Oceans Day is celebrated on 8 June every year to empower people of all ages to become leaders of their own and stop polluting ocean, and water bodies. This day spread awareness about reducing single-use plastics and taking action necessary to bring real change. Decades later, Eva and Shane have learned to live without one another. Since high school, Eva has gone to rehab, attended college, won a writing contest, and signed a book deal. The book deal makes her a sensation in the world of erotic literature. Over the years, Eva continues expanding her Cursed series. Though she feels conflicted about the work, she also knows the books have sustained her. She lives with her daughter, Audre, in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Outside of writing, Eva has few friends and does little to expand her social life.I cared about the characters, but I also wanted to shake them, and that never went away, not even in the overly-significant epilogue (where a lot of events were relegated!) or by the ending itself. Shane grew up in foster care. The first time he felt loved and cared for in a family, he lost that family. The mother was killed while taking him to the hospital the first time he broke his arm, and his foster father did not keep him after that. He started getting into trouble with the law and into drugs and alcohol. And he punished himself by deliberately breaking his arm numerous times over a span of years. A Whirlwind History Trigger warnings for drug/alcohol abuse, self harm, suicidal thoughts, attempted suicide, child abuse, neglect, and death. International Widows Day (international) is observed on 23 June annually to raise awareness globally about the violation of human rights that widows suffer and face in several countries following the death of their spouses. Eva struggles to trust Shane and he struggles to forgive himself. Eva worried that they didn’t and couldn’t work. Shane thought that he was not yet good enough for her, but he wasn’t giving up.

P.S. I absolutely adored the mention of what might be my favorite Mariah Carey album ( Charmbracelet), but TW: There is also a snarky comment made about her later on (that I may have or have may not secretly laughed at 😡🤣). Asteroid Day is an event observed on 30 June to provide online education about the asteroid. This event is held on the anniversary of the Siberian Tunguska event that took place on 30 June 1908. It is the most harmful known asteroid-related event on Earth in recent history. The United Nations passed a resolution for celebrating 30 June as Asteroid Day. This day is launched by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to focus attention on the worldwide extinction of child labour, efforts and the action required to eliminate it. In 2015, world leaders adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in which they included a clause to end child labour.Eva and Shane finally talk and explain themselves. They then spend some time apart. Though they are not sharing the same physical location, they continue communicating via text. Once they are finally reunited, they decide to give their relationship another chance. I was immediately drawn to Shane and loved his character. I really liked Eva too, and at first while Audre felt like a typical angsty pre-teen, she grew on me with her old soul personality. I ended up loving all 3 of them and felt for Eva and Shane with the pain they both experienced in their pasts. With its keen observations of creative life in America today, as well as the joys and complications of being a mother and a daughter, Seven Days in June is a hilarious, romantic, and sexy-as-hell story of two writers discovering their second chance at love.
