Union officials at the Fisher Body conference reluctantly accepted Knudsen's suggestion that, in Cleveland and Pontiac at least, representatives of all the organizations in the plants, including the company unions, should meet with the management in a single body.

As a special inducement, GM, in addition to its regular dividends, promised to pay $2 per share for five years to those employees who participated in the plan.
