In the unlikely event that you have extra whipped Brie cheese spread leftover, just keep these storage instructions in mind:

If the rind lumps and flavor bits bother you, take the rind off all the way before whipping. We most often remove at least some of the rind from brie cheese before whipping it for a smoother result. Vitamins and Minerals: Brie cheese contains various vitamins and minerals, including vitamin B12, vitamin A, riboflavin, and phosphorus. We found taking the roughest part off and leaving the rest worked well. Whatever you choose to do about the rind, it’s a good idea to wash the rind so its clean before you whip the cheese. Is Brie Healthy?

#1 THE BEST RAW MATERIALS

If you are interested in pairing it with a wine, I suggest an off-dry white wine. An off-dry Riesling has a bit of sweetness to complement the creamy richness of the cheese but also some acidity to balance the sweet honeycomb. Another great choice would be to pair a slightly off-dry sparkling wine. A recipe like this is worth the splurge! Late Harvest Wines: Late harvest Riesling or Gewürztraminer, with their natural sweetness, can create a pleasant contrast with the savory notes of brie. When choosing your whipping tool, consider the quantity of brie you’re working with, your desired texture, and the level of convenience and efficiency you prefer. If you don’t have a food processor or blender, Electric mixers, whether hand mixers or stand mixers, generally offer good control and efficiency in achieving a smooth and fluffy whipped brie. But they will take a bit longer. if you don’t mind a slightly less refined texture or prefer a more hands-on approach, manual tools like a potato masher or hand whisk can be used in a pinch. Gourmet Pizza: Whipping brie makes it soft enough to use as the spread on the pizza crust, as the base rather than traditional pizza sauce. Top it with ingredients like caramelized onions, prosciutto, arugula, or roasted garlic for a sophisticated Mediterranean twist.

The decision to remove the rind and how much of it to remove, in the end, is a matter of personal preference. If you enjoy the flavor and texture of the rind and don’t mind its presence in the whipped brie, you can choose to leave it all on. If you use a food processor or good blender, you can get most of the rind mixed in smoothly. Pairing Brie with something acidic will bring out its velvety texture – try fruits like apples, grapes, or pears, or sweet and zippy sides like fig jam or honey. If the occasion calls for something more substantial, try earthy nuts like unsalted pecans or candied walnuts, or laying out a charcuterie alongside cheese options. The go-to beverage to pair with Brie is champagne. But Brie also pairs fantastically with certain wines and beers. Soft and fruity red wines, such as Pinot Noir, will contrast beautifully with the mellowness of Brie. Acidic, herbaceous, dry white wines like Sauvignon Blanc will also work well. Pairing Brie with something acidic will bring out its velvety texture – try fresh fruits like apples, grapes, or pears or sweet and zippy sides like jam or honey. Brie also pairs well with nuts, such as walnuts, unsalted pecans or candied walnuts. This provides a sweet and crunchy contrast to the soft and creamy Brie. Another way to serve Brie is in a sandwich with sliced turkey or ham, arugula leaves, and cranberry sauce. As you whip the brie, keep a close eye on the texture and stop when it reaches a creamy, spreadable consistency that you prefer. It’s essential to strike a balance between achieving a light and fluffy texture while not overworking the cheese, as excessive whipping can result in the cheese breaking down too much and becoming runny. Fresh Herbs: The beauty of this brie cheese recipe is that you can easily customize it with your favourite flavours. I love fresh thyme in this recipe – it goes well with both the brie and the honeycomb. This time I used both fresh thyme, which is flowering right now, and winter savory from my garden. Plus, I was able to use the tiny thyme flowers as a pretty garnish! Whipped brie is best enjoyed relatively soon after preparation to ensure optimal flavor and texture. While it can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days, don’t expect it stay fresh, spreadable and moist longer than that. For the best taste and quality, make it and serve within two days. OR Transfer the whipped brie to a container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. Chilling it will help it set and firm up slightly. Whatever tool you use, Whip the brie until it becomes smooth and fluffy. Make sure that any remaining rind is well incorporated.
