The plot of Keroro Gunsō the Super Movie (2006) starts with Keroro buying a gunpla of the GM Sniper Custom Ver. Ka. The said gunpla has yet to be released in real life, but the Kunio Okawara-designed GM Sniper Custom got released in 2017, 11 years after the movie release. An early prototype of the Earth Federation Forces' mobile suit mass production project, the GM Ground Type was developed before the RX-78-2 Gundam's operational data was recovered. Even though it was only able to operate on Earth, its internal parts were all tuned for ground combat, and it was equipped with Luna Titanium armor, causing its mobility, maneuverability, and general performance to surpass the later RGM-79 GM. Additionally, the pronunciation of the GM's name as "jim" and not "jee-em" is possibly a parallel of sorts to the Zaku's alleged derivative Japanese term " zako ( 雑魚 , zako ?)". In the GM's case, the term might be " jimi ( 地味 , jimi ?)" meaning plain/simple, presumably referring to the overall design that is simple (and cheap) compared to the RX-78-2 Gundam. The beam saber is a small device held in the mobile suit's hands when operated and is powered by a rechargeable energy capacitor. A transportable cannon developed by Yashima Heavy Industries as a long-range weapon for use in 1G environment. It has an alternate model number: "NFHI·GMCa-type.09/". Its design is thought to have referenced the Zimmad Corporation’s ZIM/M-T-K175C Magella Top Cannon. It uses a six-rounds box magazine that is inserted into the top. The most notable feature of this weapon is that it can be broken down into compact components for transport in containers carried by the mobile suit. The GM Sniper II was one of the last GM-type units to be developed during the One Year War. However, because its production began near the end of the war and its high cost, only a small number of GM Sniper II were deployed in the One Year War. Since this machine was hastily deployed to the team, it was not changed to the gray coloring of other White Dingo's MS, but it had a unique white and blue coloring. The White Dingo Team engaged in fierce battles with the Principality of Zeon's MS-14G Gelgoog Ground Type, prototype MA Rhinoceros, and other forces, and all of them safely survived the One Year War.
