Description

The design of the Alienware gaming monitor is futuristic and alien-like. That is why this monitor will stand out on your desk. Are you are a gamer who loves casual or competitive gaming? You’re bound to notice a significant difference. It will strike you if you are switching from a 60Hz gaming monitor to an elusive 240 fps.

The major problem with 240Hz gaming screens is the cost factor. They cost 2x more than 144Hz gaming monitors. That’s why novice or casual gamers may be better off looking elsewhere. If you've watched the part of my video, which I recommended you to watch, you could see what changing overdrive gain looks like. Additionally, this OSD menu is easy to navigate and intuitive. The six OSD buttons are right at the base of the screen’s bezel.

The 240Hz vs. 144Hzdilemma is more and more frequently brought up among competitive gamers. In short, the difference is certainly apparent – but not as apparent as it is between60Hz and 144Hz. The Dark Stabilizer brightens the screen. It gives three different levels of brightness, which allows you to spot your enemies even in the darkest areas. The Game Enhance Mode consists of three functions. The first is an FPS counter. Then there’s a Display Alignment for multitaskers and an on-screen timer. – AMD Free-Sync The monitor is exceptionally well-built, with a thin bezel, and it weighs only 13.47 pounds along with the stand. Your monitor is safe and stable on this tripod. So, you can enjoy the game without any screen tearing or stuttering. When you’re not using the menu, four of these OSD buttons work as hotkeys for specific functions. You can also assign them for shortcuts in the Personalised section.

Overall, the measured contrast ratio is a bit shy of the specified 1,000:1, but the brightness performance is perfect as it peaks a bit over 400-nits with consistent and uniform luminance. Het venster Zelfuitpakkend bestand wordt weergegeven en u wordt gevraagd om het bestand uit te pakken in Anyway when I put it on normal overdrive it has more input lag and so much motion blur I get headache. The ergonomic design of this Alienware monitor includes a 130mm adjustable height. There’s also a 90-degree pivot feature with a 20-degree swivel feature, and you can tilt it from 5 to 25 degrees. The monitor also offers a 100 x 100 VESA mount compatibility. The monitor’s screen has a special anti-glare coating, which gives it a matte finish. – Performance If you are an NVIDIA card user, then AW2518HF is available with the G-Sync compatibility. Note that it is more expensive. – PriceDDC/CI (This is recommended to keep off, but I found no difference in testing. Your GPU might do some dynamic/automatic overdrive adjustments if you enable g-sync/freesync though, so I would keep it on with G-sync enabled) On the other hand, if you are a hardcore or a professional gamer and want every millisecond of advantage you can get, you will definitely want a 240Hz monitor. I've now read the thread further... it's a shame that nobody else has corrected you and other people who have the same misconceptions. The pixel response time speed of 1ms GtG eliminates visible trailing behind fast-moving objects, but such fast response time is nowadays available on IPS panel displays as well.

Follow the UFOs with your eye and observe the amount of ghosting/overshoot you see with your gsync+super fast "fix" in place. dark stabilizer is badly implemented on that monitor so I never used it - when its enabled it introduces some type of a bad "sharpness/contrast" effect around edges of the icons, its especially visible on win 10 taskbar

Alienware is one of the most popular brands. They promise to set the trend with their extra edges, curves in their design, and solid build. They also offer above-par performance like no one else can do. The same thing applies to this monitor. It sits on a sturdy tripod stand, which provides stable support. I recently bought 240hz aw2518hf for 230 used and i noticed its slightly more blurry than my bros 144hz benq, but since i dont play fps i dont really care. The colors on this one are 3-4 times better and perceived lower input lag.
