Description

DELTA mini’s technical specs for solar input are 300W, 11–75V DC, and 10A max. In practical terms, you can connect multiple solar panels in series (i.e., connecting one panel directly to the next) as long as their combined open-circuit voltage doesn’t go over 75V. Can I Use It as an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)? Having power on tap in any situation is a valuable asset, which is why this Portable Power Station market is growing as fast as it is. The DELTA mini offers 1400W of power (2100W peak) under normal usage giving you a lot of power without compromises. To put this in comparison, most household devices are designed around a 1400-1500W peak limit to fit the 15A breaker size found in most homes and businesses. This puts the DELTA mini in the sweet spot of covering most items that can connect into a common plug, and many bigger draw items that don’t care about power quality when running in X-Boost 1800W mode.

The EcoFlow DELTA minioffers an 882Wh capacity, enough to keep your devices running when you’re on the go. Output: 1400W AC output

A close-up of the Delta Mini’s display. Evan Rodgers / Input How much capacity does it really have? Like I mentioned above, it is pretty difficult to estimate how much power you actually need, so an opportunity to expand the capacity of your power station provides a little bit of futureproofing. The Delta Mini isn’t expandable like EcoFlow’s Delta Max and the Delta Pro, which both have optional add-on batteries that you can connect to the main units. Overall the unit is very stiff, and I think it could take a beating, though perhaps not quite as much of a beating as a Goal Zero Yeti. For non-standard solar panels, if the same wattage is lower than the standard 110w, the voltage and current can be used in series at 11-37V DC 10A. According to the specific parameters, it can be connected in parallel or in series, but using solar panels of different wattages is not recommended. In edge IT deployments standing up equipment for initial configuration may mean supplying your own power for a while. Here the DELTA mini can be leveraged to get servers operational for a period of time before you get them wired into their final production environment. We tested the DELTA mini with the 3-node Supermicro Edge IoT server, which had no problem standing it up in our lab.

EcoFlow also supplied their new 220W Bifacial solar panel with the DELTA mini, which has an interesting element to help drive more flexibility for a Portable Power Station. As the name implies, the design is Bifacial, which in simple terms means it can absorb light from both sides. The EcoFlow DELTA features an NCM battery. The EcoFlow Battery Management System automatically regulates current, voltage, and temperature. Regarding the battery lifespan, you’re looking at 800 cycles to 80% capacity. EcoFlow DELTA: The Final Verdict While the mini is the smallest unit in the DELTA series, EcoFlow scales up to a huge ecosystem covering large power stations, solar panels, and associated equipment. For the smaller shop looking to stand up hardware in the field or the media professional getting ready for a shoot, EcoFlow has carved out a niche for themselves with the DELTA series. All rechargeable batteries lose capacity over time but how fast depends on the battery. In ideal conditions, DELTA mini’s battery will have 80% health after 800 cycles; most phone batteries and portable power stations reach 80% health after only 500 cycles. Can I Jump My Car Battery With It?

See exactly how many watts are coming into fine-tune your solar setup. See how many minutes are left to manage your usage better. The display is full of information to let you know what’s happening. Twelve outlets The EcoFlow DELTA Maxutilises an NCM battery and the EcoFlow Battery Management System. That means you get a battery that lasts for years. 800 cycles to 80% capacity, to be precise. EcoFlow DELTA Max: The Final Verdict DELTA mini can be used as an emergency power supply (EPS), which has the same result as a UPS for most electronics. Here’s the difference: When your DELTA mini is plugged into the wall, any electronics plugged into it get power from the grid, not its battery. When power from the grid stops, it switches to battery supply mode within 30 milliseconds. During that time, sensitive electronics like desktop computers and data servers may turn off, but most devices will run as normal. Can I Use It as a Solar Generator?

The DELTA mini solar generator can be charged in different ways. This is fastest via the mains adapter. The device has a fast charge input of 900 W via mains power and can therefore be fully charged within 2 hours (for 80% in 1 hour). The DELTA mini can be charged via solar panels within 4-6 hours in good weather conditions. The maximum input for this is 300 W. Clear and easy to use display of the DELTA Mini EcoFlow DELTA portable power stations come in all shapes and sizes, with plenty of features that give you power for any situation. Before comparing each unit, we’ve provided a simple breakdown of 6 tips to consider when choosing a portable power station. Here’s everything you need to know. Capacity Obviously, I wouldn’t recommend running any inverter above its rated capacity for long periods of time, but I have to hand it to EcoFlow for really delivering the goods here. EcoFlow 220W Bifacial Solar Panel Specifications

If you’re not a fan of apps and don’t care about UPS, for all intents and purposes its basic functionality is plug and play. High Output DELTA Pro has a new upgraded design compared to other DELTA series portable power stations. It features two wheels at the bottom of the unit and an extendable handle, which means you conveniently carry 3.6kWh of power around. Fast Charging: 6500W MultiCharge The strength of the DELTA mini paired with a high-performing solar panel is that you can charge the battery while also supplying power at the same time. During our testing, we leveraged this capability to keep the DELTA mini topped off while also providing power to a smaller 125W load over the AC inverter. The unit operated on a net-positive charge rate, where we were supplying our power and adding to the charge at the same time. Solar is a field with many variables, so actual results can differ. But it’s incredibly useful to keep operations going while charging the portable power station at the same time. EcoFlow 220W Bifacial Solar Panel Specifications Rated Power With a 1260Wh capacity, the EcoFlow DELTA gives you enough runtime to charge essential devices like lights (10W), a fridge (120W, AC), a microwave (1300W, AC), and more. The EcoFlow DELTA (1000W)is also available if you’re looking for a different capacity option. Output: Huge 1800W AC output

The DELTA Pro is the only portable power station in the EcoFlow DELTA series to sport an LFP battery. As a portable home battery, LFP batteries offer 6500+ cycles, which means you can continue using them for years before reaching 50% of their original capacity. EcoFlow DELTA Pro: The Final Verdict Because it runs off a battery, the EcoFlow DELTA mini is completely safe to use indoors. Because it’s so portable, it can do double-duty for activities like camping or providing power in remote areas. It could even be used as a UPS. You can recharge it using optional solar panels for complete freedom from the grid. In short, this is a portable power station that serves as insurance and peace of mind from power disruption that doesn’t require a big investment in money or space. If portability is the most important thing you’re looking for, the EcoFlow DELTA mini is a perfect portable power option. Quite literally, a mini power station, it comes in at around 10.7kg. That’s power you can take with you anywhere. Fast Charging: 900W X-Stream Charge To be fair, though, I’m not aware of any power stations in the roughly 1,000Wh capacity range that have substantive expansion options. Goal Zero has its lead-acid Home Energy Kit, but at this point, it’s probably better to invest in lithium-ion batteries given the price, lifespan, and power density. Begone, extension cord; small power stations are my new best friend. Use cases Van life For home users, the Delta Mini’s DC outputs probably won’t attract much attention. But for van life and RV purposes, the DC outputs get a lot of use with things like 12v mini fridges and other mobile appliances. The 12v cigarette plug can do 126 watts, which might be cutting it close for some mini fridges. EcoFlow says the power station should keep a 40W CPAP machine going for about 13 hours. If you take it out to the yard or bush where electrical outlets may not be available, it can power a 1400W circular saw for 30 minutes. Recommendation
