The FunSaver manages to be even simpler, more affordable, and more reliable than those obscenely cheap reloadable cameras, which gives the shooter a chance to focus on literally nothing but the composition. The photos look a little like the film may have been outdated, the colors seem to have a yellowish/or light tan tint to them. I used a disposable camera for a couple of years and kept it in my car where it’s 150° (65°C) degrees inside during the summer.

Normally you won’t see the film if you just turn in the camera to your developer; however, if you take the film out of the camera yourself this is what you’ll see. For quite a few shots I tried to shade the lens from the sun using my hand, but as you see, the lens captured what the viewfinder did not. The battery will stay charged for years; and even if it goes bad, you can still use the camera outdoors in good light.Kodak Gold 800 produces consistently bright, vibrant colors across a wide range of lighting conditions. WE HAVE BEEN PROVIDING PHOTO PROCESSING SERVICES SINCE 1983 AND HAVE THE EXPERIENCE, EQUIPMENT AND EXPERTISE TO GIVE YOU THE BEST QUALITY RESULTS ON TRADITIONAL, SILVER HALIDE PHOTOGRAPHIC PAPER (NOT INKJET! Loaded with the right film, such as a chromogenic black and white emulsion, this camera seems like a great landscape or street camera with a very wide depth of field. I see moderate pincushion distortion and color fringing along the sides between high contrast areas. Camera comes with a single AA battery installed and the charge will last much longer than shooting the 27 pictures with flash.

We’ll send you exciting photography interviews, crazy tips and tricks, competitions giveaways, and unmissable offers. The most common of these disposables (at least in the United States) is the Kodak FunSaver, which also happens to be the camera that introduced me to photography.

It seems, like with most film camera (and my experience too) that bad results from back in the day were as a result of lousy processing and printing. You can get 27 images on any roll of 24 as long as you can load the camera yourself in the dark and do not have to advance it to the first shot mark; however, with motorized auto loading cameras, you probably won’t get any more than 25. The guys were nice enough to have a chat with me and were very helpful with tips and tricks to better my photography.

Build quality is straight up consumer grade, complete with a loose shutter button made of flimsy gray plastic, a paper cover for the flash button, and a loud, rough advance wheel.

Disposable cameras are all about simplicity and a carefree shooting experience, and the Kodak FunSaver brings those two traits admirably without any complication.

If you rely on your local developer/printer, you will probably not get anything close to what you see here, the reason being they scan the negatives too quickly, and that results in a poor light range from deep shadows to bright skies; plus the colors are not really accurate/punchy in my opinion. You’re right, the images do have a warmer tint overall, but looking at other examples shows a similarly warm tint. This film delivers extra sharpness and unsurpassed fine grain (among 800-speed films) for crisper, clearer pictures even when enlarged. This may seem like an awful lot of praise for a consumer disposable, and let’s be frank, for photo geeks obsessed with quality and control, serious photographers who live and die by their Leica M or Nikon F6, the Funsaver simply won’t satisfy.
