As such it’s closer to a baby alternative to something like the Bose SoundLink Mini II or UE Wonderboom rather than just an upscaled laptop/tablet speaker. We’re also fairly impressed by how little the Creative Muvo 2C distorts at maximum volume. The Creative Muvo 2C also supports voice calling, using a pinhole mic by the top buttons, and even stereo pairing for a more room-filing experience. Again, this can be done without the phone app. You’ll get six hours’ use out of a charge, which is only just enough for comfort, but fairly good when you look at how small this speaker is versus how large it sounds. Sound Quality If you look at recommended retail prices rather than actual prices online, there’s very little that can touch the Creative Muvo 2 in terms of pure substance per dollar/pound. REVIEW – In my years of reviewing portable Bluetooth speakers, one of my all-time favorites is the Creative iRoar speaker. It’s becoming a cliché, but that little desktop monster sounds way bigger than its size. The iRoar is that rare Bluetooth speaker you can listen to all day without wishing you had something bigger or louder. It’s really good! But what if you just want a small speaker that can be used outdoors where it might be splashed with mud, dropped into a pool or just plain mistreated? Creative makes that too—the Creative MUVO Play portable and waterproof Bluetooth speaker for outdoors. Is the MUVO Play a mini iRoar or is it just a me-too speaker? What is it? The UE Wonderboom comes across more polished, prettier and more rugged thanks to its weaved nylon grille. On the other end, the Bose Soundlink Mini 2 and Jam Heavy Metal seem more impressive because they have metal shells.

Overall audio quality is darn good for small speakers. Of course, I’ve head better, but that comes at a usually much higher price. But for what the MUVO Play was designed for—its small size, handy lanyard and decent audio should provide a fun and easy way to fit music into your daily routine—whether as a single speaker or paired with a second speaker for stereo. What I like The sound quality is a satisfaction for me for a speaker in this class. It is small therefore it is portable. I can place it in my sling bag without it taking up much space. But it is big enough that you can take it out with you on a picnic outdoors. Other than that, you can pair it up with a tablet and use it to watch movies. Better yet, pair it up with another Creative Muvo Go for an immersive surround sound.

It might be small, but this wireless speaker packs a punch

You can treat the Muvo 2 as a simple Bluetooth unit, but it can also act as a USB soundcard/laptop speaker and an MP3 player. There are six rubber control buttons on the top, and the “M” switches between modes, including these extras. Even at maximum volume the Muvo 2 sounds composed, not at all “shouty” or harsh, and the bass radiator does not distort. This can sometimes happen when the driver hasn’t been designed properly and the diaphragm ends up moving too far. Better still, some have controls on the speaker itself, or even a remote control, so they can be used as standalone music players. The downside of that is that one or two of them seemed so self-contained that they refused to respond to any volume adjustments and so on from the mobile phone or tablet. This setup works a treat in all the best small bar-shape speakers, and does so again here. The Muvo 2 is alarmingly powerful and loud for its size, and at higher volumes the sound has much less a hard edge, and much more confidence, than the Muvo 2C. We’ve listened to it all day long near max volume, happily.

For the way we use speakers, the USB functionality is the most useful. Just plug the Muvo 2 into your laptop using the charge cable and you can select the box as the sound output, as you might do with an external soundcard. A blue LED means Bluetooth, yellow means MP3 player, purple USB and green aux input. The Creative Muvo 2C automatically uses Bluetooth when first switched on, so if you’re using the standard mode you don’t have to think about this Mode button too much. The sound is great, features are plentiful and there’s even fairly good water resistance. Some speakers in this class and the next have more bass, but most are a lot more expensive and almost none have the same breadth of features. It’s a pity the app and firmware update process are deeply flawed, though. The MUVO Play is a bulbous shape and size similar to the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom speaker—but at half their price. I can’t say if it sounds as good because I don’t have a Wonderboom speaker to compare. However, even if the MUVO Play’s style is derivative, it’s a nicely designed speaker that looks more expensive than it is. It’s round shape and speaker placements provide almost 360° audio. As fine as the Muvo 2 looks, Creative speakers suit those who care more about a speaker’s insides than its outsides.Well-balanced, clear and quite powerful, it’s only when the Muvo 2 is compared to some of its best rivals that you start to hear its limits. It’s just not quite as rich or powerful-sounding as the Jam Heavy Metal or Bose SoundLink Mini II. Unlike most small speakers with a single drive unit, it doesn’t become “shouty” or more harsh, and the passive radiator only distorts in extreme situations. Single passive radiators are prone to a sort of farting noise as they strain against their limit if not engineered properly. The Creative Muvo 2C doesn’t do this, no matter how hard the radiator is worked. Some other songs that I usually play are those by Alan Walker or any EDM type of songs. Sometimes you can also find some bass boosted songs on YouTube which I did try on this Creative Muvo Go speaker. It held up quite well. It is a good outdoor Bluetooth speaker that you can get at an affordable price. So would I recommend this Creative Muvo Go Bluetooth speaker? Yes I would. Even my wife approves of it. She said that it was really easy for her to pair up with her phone and she is not that tech savvy. If she can do it, I’m sure it would be easy for anyone else too. Plus, it sounds good. Good enough that it is subtle, yet immersive. My personal opinion, it is my go to speaker when I’m relaxing in my mancave. The Creative Stage Air V2 is considered as a soundbar, so that is not within the same class as the Creative Muvo Go. That soundbar is attached to my SmartTV and it’s wonderful. Microsoft® Windows 10, Microsoft Windows 8.1 32-bit or 64-bit, Windows 8 32-bit or 64-bit, Windows 7 32-bit or 64- bit

I can't get it to connect to my laptop, however, which is my only negative for this product. (I think this is due to different Bluetooth systems - 4.0 for the speakers and 2.0 for the laptop which is a quite a few years old now, so be warned if your tech is old). Not too much of a problem when my phone has all of my music, but it would have been useful! The most forward-looking speakers have NFC (Near Field Communication) Bluetooth technology, which typically means that you can have the music player (phone, tablet or laptop) up to 10m away from the speaker.Creative provides an easy-to-follow video on how to pair in stereo mode. That’s a good thing because the icon-driven printed manual is as clear as mud explaining this procedure. This speaker delivers clear and balanced sound, creating an immersive listening experience. It is equipped with powerful drivers, ensuring accurate and detailed audio reproduction. The Creative Muvo Go weighs about 570g. It feels really solid when holding it in one hand. There are two speakers inside the speaker grille facing forward. And there are two more “bassy” speakers located on each side of the speaker body facing outward left and right. Together, they can produce symphonic sound that you can never expect from a Bluetooth speaker like this.
