Her YA novels have been nominated for the YA Book Prize, the Inky Awards, the Carnegie Medal, and the Goodreads Choice Awards. A short novella based on the beloved characters from the graphic novel Heartstopper and Alice Oseman's debut novel Solitaire, which was praised as 'The Catcher in the Rye for the digital age' by The Times. Although they had some things they were struggling with here and there, they were still there for eachother and they just cared and loved one another so much.

He likes rugby, Formula 1, dogs, the Marvel universe, the sound felt-tips make on paper, rain and drawing on shoes. The story came out after Solitaire in which Nick and Charlie play supporting cast in a story about Tori (Tori continues to be great here, probably my favorite character honestly) and was written before Heartstopper. In this novella we see Nick and Charlie a little bit over two years after the beginning of Heartstopper and a over an year after the events of Solitaire as they are struggling a bit in their relationship when Nick is preparing to go to university. They are one of my all time favourite ships and I just love the way Alice Oseman has developed it over the years. to be honest i would have been completely okay if this was a full length novel just so that we could get more exposition.

People we know usually message Charlie these days when they want to talk to either of us because I’m horrific at replying to messages.

in Heartstopper, despite some of the traumatic things Charlie and Nick experience, it’s always with an edge of soft hopefulness, and their relationship continues to remain steady and strong. I do feel there were a few missed opportunities to explore the themes of the book in greater detail, and at certain points the dialogue felt a little weak, especially in high-tension scenes which could've benefitted from more interaction between characters. i did like occasional illustration of nick and charlie, it reminded me of the graphic novels that i got so used to for heartstopper.

I remember the exact moment I decided to take it, walking into my room after getting a glass of water to find Charlie curled up so beautifully in my bed, the orange street-lamp light shining on his skin, and I felt like if I was going to die, this. NICK AND CHARLIE, a short story originally released as an e-book in 2015, is being rereleased in August 2020 as a paperback!A short novella based on the beloved characters from the graphic novel Heartstopper and Alice Oseman's debut novel Solitaire, which was praised as ' The Catcher in the Rye for the digital age' by The Times. The most honest and authentic account of modern teenage life that you’ll read this year… outstanding contemporary fiction with appeal to fans of John Green. This Winter and Nick and Charlie are spin-off novellas from Solitaire and Heartstopper, but can still be read and enjoyed even if you haven’t read those books. Alice is the author of several YA contemporary novels about teenage disasters: SOLITAIRE (published when she was 19), RADIO SILENCE, I WAS BORN FOR THIS, and LOVELESS (a New York Times bestseller). When I started this journey I never thought it would get to this, but they are genuinely my favourite fictional couple.

Nick is due to leave for university soon but Charlie is worried about what it will do to their relationship. I first read this book in 2015 just after finishing Alice's debut novel Solitaire because I needed more Nick and Charlie in my life. I recommend this book because it’s real, it’s relatable, it shows that these two lovable characters have flaws and they’re still lovable. With some couples you just know that they are meant to be together forever and those two are like the epitome of this feeling! The book tells such a sweet story of innocent young love with all its shyness, embarrassment, humour and awkwardness and is incredibly relatable for anyone who is or ever has been a teenager with a crush. Five years later and I still really enjoyed it but I'm feeling a little different towards it, for two reasons.
