The Cloud Up 2 is a slightly larger version of the Cloud Up 1. Officially, it’s a two-person tent, but it would be better for one person who wants more space to spread out or an adult and a child. Weather Conditions:High humidity, low temperatures, and rainy conditions create the most condensation. WATERPROOF & WINDPROOF - This tent is one tough cookie with a waterproof rating of 4000MM thanks to its Silicone Nylon fabric and seam taping. The Silicone Nylon construction also makes this tent ideal for snow trekking as the slipperier material allows snow to slide straight off!

LIGHTWEIGHT - tipping the scales at 1670 grams (including pegs and poles) these are hardly the porkiest tents you'll pitch!!! Ideal for either lightweight hiking or as a cycling tent. Therefore, the Cloud Up 1 is ideal for hikers camping for a few days, but you’d probably want to invest in something lighter for any serious thru-hiking. The Upgrade It shares the same overall design as the Hilleberg but the materials are obviously not as high-quality in an entry-level version. That said, you have to bear in mind that low-budget gear won’t be the best for extreme conditions, and it’s not reasonable to expect it to perform as well as top-of-the-range expedition gear.

If you want to get a version of the Cloud 1 with an extra vent for increased airflow and reduced condensation, you can opt for the upgraded version. My only concern would be if you are tall. Then your feet or head might touch the walls and you’d end up wet from condensation. And, as mentioned before, the Cloud Up 2 is definitely not big enough to fit two poofy winter sleeping bags!

Floor mat material: pale grey, pale green or red ( 20D nylon fabric covered with silicone) / orange or green (150D Oxford fabric) The ventilation is a bit limited in this tent, with just a single vent in the sleeping compartment. I also don’t like the fact that the vestibule is so small, as it’s a lot less comfortable to sleep alongside your kit. When it comes to weight, price and quality, you really can’t do much better than the Naturehike Cloud Up 2. However, the tent is definitely cramped inside. If you want something roomier but which is still this light, then get the Cloud Up 3P– or be prepared to spend a lot more.

The ventilation is a bit limited, and I would prefer to see a second vent to keep the interior nice and cool in the summer months. One solution is to pitch in the direction of the breeze, or you could take down your tent during the hottest part of the day to prevent heat from building up in the sleeping compartment. Naturehike don’t specify the length, width and height of the outer and then the length, width and height of the inner. So you have to guess whether the given dimensions refer to the outer or the inner. This probably doesn’t really matter if you’re average height, but if you’re tall, this information really matters. INSECT PROOF - with B3 breathable mesh, you can still ventilate your tent without 10 million mosquitoes inviting themselves in for the evening. I love that this tent has two doors because it really does transform your camping experience if you are sharing your tent. It also has sealed seams to protect you from the rain; these seams aren’t always present in Naturehike tents. The ripstop nylon will resist tears in windy weather, and the 4000mm water-resistant rainfly will keep you dry in some of the foulest weather.
