I particularly like the branding here. the label is as small and unobtrusive as possible, wrapping around near the base and leaving the majority of the surface area completely clear and transparent. This might not be quite as important with a blanco tequila as it would with an aged version, but it does help to consumers see the quality and the clarity of the product inside the bottle. Mixto, on the other hand, starts with a blend of agave juice and other sugarsglucose or fructose, or bothusually in the form of a sugar syrup. Mixtos were invented as a way to stretch the supply of agave and lower production costs. By law, they must be 51% agave. Most of us drank more than enough of this stuff in college.

I've no idea how this compares to the mixto version (which I have no desire to try unless by some miracle it is actually better than this), but I can say that it walks all over the other mixtos I've tried.

Bought 2nd June 2011 from Selfridge's, Birmingham, England, for a trip to Stonehenge; I wanted something to introduce some friends to 100% agave tequila, and it looks like I really hit paydirt. This top-of-the-line Añejo tequila from El Jimador never fails to impress. Whilt not as rich as the more expensive Don Julio Añejo, this year-aged tequila remains a bargain. El Jimador tequila flagship name honors the master harvesters of the blue agave plant for tequila and mezcal production. [ 1]

We recommend mixing El Jimador Reposado in various fun concoctions, making the perfect delicious punch at parties.Fresh agave and citrus upfront that is soon warmed by spices and sweet vanilla and cinnamon mid-palate. A hint of hazelnuts follows while the vegetal note is well-balanced and earthy with a moreish heated finish of agave, oak and spice. Best Served
