Description

The ghosts of Button House may have been dead a long time - some of them a very long time - but they have all left their mark on the world (even if, in Robin’s case, that mark is just a handprint on the wall of a cave).

Written by the show’s creators – Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond – this eclectic archive is a unique chance to discover more about the beloved ghosts of Button House. So many little in-jokes and you could hear the characters coming through with every insert and feature, chuckling along and enjoying the little insights into their living. A very big thank you to Bloomsbury and NetGalley for the chance to have this sneak peek into something that Ghosts fans are going to adore.Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). Gathered together in this volume is a treasure trove of unearthed cuttings, original records and rare artefacts that explore the unseen lives of those who died at Button House: from Thomas's love letters to Pat's 'Summer Camp Rap', and from Julian's campaign promises to Lady Button's Rules of Etiquette. Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond are the creators of GHOSTS and all star in the series. We will post your book review within a day or so as long as it meets our guidelines and terms and conditions. I especially love the Julian character and there were two very amusing sections concerning him in this small example.

The Button House Archives will be published by Bloombury on 26th October, tying in with the end of the comedy.Lots of little in-jokes and subtle references for fans, and looks like it will make a great companion piece. They have a wealth of comic writing experience across TV, film, stage and radio, including award-winning Paddington Bear features, screenplays for Aardman Studios, The Wrong Man, Tracy Ullman's Show, Quacks and Murder in Successville. Additionally, the plan is for the stars to sign books "at events around the country in the run-up to Christmas". Based on the BBC television series Ghosts produced by Monumental Television in association with Them There.

Image shows from L to R: Robin (Laurence Rickard), Humphrey (Laurence Rickard), Mary (Katy Wix), Thomas (Mathew Baynton), Alison (Charlotte Ritchie), Kitty (Lolly Adefope), Mike (Kiell Smith-Bynoe), Captain (Ben Willbond), Pat (Jim Howick), Lady Button (Martha Howe-Douglas), Julian (Simon Farnaby). He has come to try to process his grief and make himself desirable again as a husband, a father and a business partner. From the sampler of the Ghosts Archives and I’ll start by saying, if you’re a fan of the show (I’m going to assume that you are because EVERYONE should be. From Thomas’ love letters, to Fanny’s tips on etiquette and Julian’s election speeches, this book contains all of the character insiders the show didn’t get a chance to show us! I love Ghosts, such a well written, funny, and sometimes genuinely poignant show, and if this sample is anything to go by, the book will be a good extension of that - I found the Julian sections in particular very funny. I particularly liked the explanation of the ghost rules at the beginning and the 10 questions for each of the ghosts.
