The fact that Cassie eventually looks forward to just talking to Erin leaves no impression, and she has few qualms about boning her best friend’s mom, because a drunken Parker gave her permission to do whatever makes her happy, so all’s good! She didn’t bother trying to make the handshake a seduction, but Erin’s hands were soft and she liked it. More unsettling than this though, is the fact that they can't stop thinking about one another when they're apart. SO sexy, emotional, and a beautiful story of two women who find love when everyone tells them they shouldn’t, choosing oneself, and accepting the happiness they deserve.Erin’s relationship with her best friend is a bit more one-note, but is still a stable, supportive bond. Again, it was just a slippery slope that wasn't justified nor handled with as much care as I'd like.

While her ex-husband is enjoying the evening with Parker, Erin decides to head to a bar for a drink.This was a continual process throughout the book which meant that everything was properly addressed and the characters had time to work through their feelings about it, particularly Erin who was aware of how the power dynamic favoured her. i know ppl will disagree with me here, and that's fine, but i DIDN'T agree with the whole "fuck should" mentality. but ultimately, it is deeply sweet: a story of how love can, and should, transcend societal expectations.
