Description

The ideal application tool is a firm, fine, natural bristled brush. For the best results, apply thinly and remove any excess oil from the surface of the wood with a clean, lint-free cloth.

For optimal cleaning of floors treated with Osmo Polyx Oil, we recommend the Osmo Floor Maintenance Kit. Other household cleaning products such as vanish, bleach, baking soda etc. are likely to cause severe discolouration or staining. Cork tiles are best treated before fitting to avoid overlapping treatment of edges which would lead to prolonged drying times. A cork floor treated with Osmo Polyx-Oil will get a robust, elastic and wear-resistant surface which will harden further over 2-3 weeks. Due to the extreme absorption power of this highly elastic, natural, material we recommend the following procedure:Clear oils can darken the appearance of the wood. To retain the light character of oak please use Osmo Polyx®-Oil 3044 Raw. Apply thinly and evenly along the wood grain with either an Osmo Hand Brush, the Osmo 220mm Floor brush or the Osmo Microfibre Roller, and spread well. Allow for good ventilation whilst drying. Apply a second coat as before. For the renovation of oiled/waxed surfaces, generally only 1 coat is required. This should be applied to a clean and dry surface. Wood surface must be clean and dry (moisture content max. 20%). Polyx®-Oil is ready to use, please do no thin, stir well before use. Please Note: Osmo Polyx Oil, as with any other clear wood oil will enhance the grain and character of the wood by giving it a damp like appearance. To test how the wood will look once the oil has been applied, slightly dampen the wood using a clean sponge or cloth. Never saturate wooden surfaces with water. Once dampened, the wood must be allowed to fully dry before applying the oil.

For daily maintenance, cleaning with a dry duster, floor mop or vacuum cleaner will be sufficient. For commercial premises, an electric floor polisher can be used.Due to its expert technical knowledge of the technologies and materials available across the industry, Promain has a reputation for outstanding service among its trade and retail customers.

Application of top coat of clear Osmo Polyx®-Oil Original can be carried out once the first coat has dried. However, if the first coat was a coloured Osmo finish ( eg Polyx®-Oil Tint or Wood Wax Finish Transparent) wait approx. 24hrs before applying Osmo Polyx®-Oil Original clear top coat. Ideal for all wooden floors, solid or plank wood, strip parquet, OSB or cork flooring. Highly recommended for wooden furniture. Also for slate and screed as well as terracotta and other natural (non-glazed) ceramic tiles. Please Note: Oiled or waxed surfaces should not be cleaned with a steam cleaner or steam mop as these will degrade or potentially strip the oiled finish. Renovation For top coating Osmo white colours use white tinted Polyx Oils ( eg: 3040 or 3240) to avoid yellowing.Cork flooring is highly porous and requires an especially thin application, as a result the drying time is increased (min. 24 hours per coat).
