I think one of the most disappointing things about the DVD is that there are no subtitles. I personally do not need subtitles but when my friend wanted to turn them on she discovered there was none. This is such a shame as it leaves it inaccessible for those who need subtitles to be able to watch. Age of Aquarius reaches Ohio. Resentful of today’s entitled youth, protective of the underdogs. The leading cast of five are nothing short of phenomenal, led by the truly enchanting Carrie Hope Fletcher whose acting prowess is easily matched in voice. Jamie Muscato embodies Christian Slater’s darkly brooding JD, and pulls off a character adored, hated and feared in equal measure.Teenage heartthrob JD casts every possible shade of wallow, so it’s exciting when hit performer Simon Gordon gets to let lose with more comedic moments, including the fleeting yet fantastically funny fist fight with macho vestiphobes Kurt and Ram. It’s this story that has the biggest impact. The songs underpin a tale of hatred, vengeance, love, pain, beauty and darkness – a tale that rings true across many corners of society. The highly anticipated live capture of Heathers: The Musical, which will premiere this March in cinemas across the UK and Ireland, will soon be released on DVD and Blu-Ray. The cast in this version of Heathers is fantastic and in my opinion one of the stronger casts the U.K. have had. Ailsa is one of my favourite Veronica's so it is great to see her portrayal filmed for DVD. She brings a lot of depth to the character and has an incredible voice. I like the relationship she shares with Simon as JD but sometimes I feel like this JD is a bit too nice. The Heathers are brilliantly cast and some of my favourites to watch in the roles. I love the innocence that Teleri brings to Macnamara, the boldness Duke shows and the fierce but lovable character Maddi brings to Chandler and all three of them have amazing voices.

Welcome to Westerberg High, where Veronica Sawyer is just another one of the nobodies dreaming of a better day. The musical will be very familiar to any fans of the film as a lot of the dialogue and well known moments have been adapted or taken straight from the film and put on stage. What really makes the musical special though is Laurence O'Keefe's music. I was already a fan of his work in the musical Legally Blonde and his work in Heathers is just as good, if not better. There are so many upbeat tunes that will make you want to watch the show again and again but there are also lots of more serious songs that show the vulnerabilities of the characters in such an effective way. RAM’S DAD: Former football player turned suburban dad, has never outgrown his high school glory days. Hates weakness, but capable of soul-searching when tragedy strikes. It undoubtedly had a huge influence on 2004’s Mean Girls, a film which similarly took a unique approach to the concept of inner school cliques.The filmed musical will be distributed through a partnership between Village Roadshow Pictures and Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment. Further distribution plans are expected to follow.
